Superwinch Solenoid Just Clicks
Packed with manufacturing secrets we ve learned over the past 40 or so years the tiger shark is a pulling machine built to get the job done.
Superwinch solenoid just clicks. I checked the leads to the battery and everything is fine. Check solenoid by applying 12 volts to coil terminal it should make an audible click when energized. Went to use it again and then it just stopped.
Check all wiring connections to solenoid for loose or broken connections. This may be due to a damaged motor as described above where you just get a clicking sound. Anyone know what to look at.
My disco came fitted with a superwinch but i can t get it to work the solenoid clicks when i switch it and the headlights dim as if the current is flowing but there s no movement. The solenoids in the control box are just clicking. Here s why the superwinch tiger shark has become everyone s favorite just in case winch.
Switching the wires on the motor terminals should reverse the running direction of the motor. Anyone stripped one down or got an idea how to tackle the problem. Winch cable or rope is spooled onto the drum in the wrong direction.
Oh and it s a superwinch lp8500. Yea blime if i go in or out it just clicks the superwinch block is cheesy compared to the warn one that is why i left it on there and i liked the switch from warn better also and i hate electrical so it was easy to just hook up the winch. The voltage at the in post of the solenoid measures 12v but when i hit the switch it measures about 3v at the out post and also at the winch motor.
If possible connect the winch motor directly to the battery via a set of jumper cables or other means to determine if the motor is working properly. Superwinch is an industry leading winch manufacturer with over 50 years of experience designing engineering building and testing the worlds best winches. I just put brand new solenoids on mine.
