The drive from the motor to countershaft was arranged with a two step pulley rather than the single of the ml7 while the headstock spindle carried four speeds instead of three.
Both countershaft pulleys and the headstock cone pulley were in cast iron a much more suitable material than aluminium and the rotating masses of which assist a single phase motor by providing a small but useful. The motor that is fitted to it is i think non standard 1 3hp 1450rpm brook crompton and has a non standard stepped pulley on the motors output shaft. The boss of the motor pulley needs to be drilled and tapped for a setscrew and the position of the pulley on the motor shaft adjusted so that the two pulleys are accurately in line. Unlike many of the competition our engineers have extensive knowledge on which motor kw and frame size are required for all the leading makes and models of lathes milling machines. As with the leadscrew pulley file a flat on the motor shaft for the setscrew.
